In a stunning revelation in the press conference following his Miami Hurricanes loss to Marquette in the Sweet 16, Miami Coach Jim Larranaga admitted that his star guard, Shane Larkin was "sick and vomiting, and didn't eat anything until 3PM today."

Larranaga also admitted that "We didn't prepare" for the game against the Golden Eagles. Coach L cited numerous injuries and maladies that caused his team to play uninspired basketball against Marquette and ultimately lose the game,71-61.

Larkin didn't mention his illness during the post-game press conference, but gave the Golden Eagles credit saying "They just executed their game plan better than we executed ours."

When asked about his team's lack of firepower, Larrranaga commented that being stuck in traffic and injuries to Nick Johnson and Larkin's illness made the team very ill-prepared to face Marquette.

The Hurricanes end the most successful season in school history with optimism,  and as senior forward Julian Gamble put it, "It was an historic season and going forward I know that the program will continue to make big strides. I was just happy to be a part of it."
