Collegehoopsdigest.com has the opportunity to talk with top recruit Jaren Sina after the Jordan Classic in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday Night. Sina sat out of the regional game as he is still recovering from a sports hernia operation and didn't want to push his recovery.
In a one on one interview, Sina told Collegehoopsdigest.com that new Northwestern coach Chris Collins would be visiting his home tomorrow to visit with him and his family. He hoped the visit would give him an opportunity to see where the program is going, and give him an opportunity to get to know the new Northwestern coach a little better. He also mentioned that Coach Tom Crean of Indiana has been in contact with him in the past week.
Sina who plays his high school ball at Gill St. Bernard in Gladstone, NJ is being heavily recruited by both Northwestern and Seton Hall. When I asked Sina about Seton Hall, he said, "I have a great relationship with them and their coaching staff. It definitely helps that Fred Hill (former Rutgers Head Coach) has been brought on their staff. I've known Coach Hill since I was a little kid."
According to Sina, there's no timetable on his decision. "It could be tomorrow, could be anytime" said Sina. When I asked him that if he was a regular college student looking at colleges if he would prefer to go to college close or away from home, Sina said, "I would just want to go somewhere where I'm happy."
With Northwestern, Alabama, Seton Hall and now Indiana all possibilities for Sina, he's going to make one of these programs very happy.
